Remember

Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another:

and the LORD hearkened, and heard it,

and a book of remembrance was written before him

for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.

                                                                              Malachi 3.16

Are not these the Holy Scriptures which are before us

as a book of remembrance that we might call to mind

all that the Lord has done is doing and will do for us ?

Do they not help us daily in calling to mind

those things which should be foremost in our thoughts?

Do not those of us who are learning to fear and to love him

speak of these things often one to another and encourage ourselves

together in the things of him as we think upon his name

ie. all that he is to us.

This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you;

in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:

                                                                                   2 Peter 3.1

Does not this book stir up our minds and transform our thought life

as we look upon and meditate on those things laid before us

to put us in remembrance.

And does not the Lord Jesus himself exhort us to remember?

"This do in remembrance..."

And consider how great a book it is

the truth of which has a grandeur that excels the mighty mountains

and a vastness that exceeds the seas in its breadth and it s depth.

Can we in it behold a glory that reaches even to the heavens?
