What Mary Found

And she had a sister called Mary,
which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word.
Luke 10.39

As she sat before him his words washed over her
like a gentle rain
like dew on the morning grass

Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear,
O earth, the words of my mouth.
My doctrine shall drop as the rain,
my speech shall distil as the dew,
as the small rain upon the tender herb,
and as the showers upon the grass.
Deuteronomy 32.1,2

Her heart became enraptured by the glory of his countenance

One thing have I desired that will I seek after
that i might dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life
to behold the beauty of the Lord
and to enquire in his temple.
Psalm 27.4

Her eyes are fixed upon him
drinking in of his essence

I said,"Behold me..."
Isaiah 65.1

As she sat there a peace came over her and a rest
as she ceased from her own activities and thoughts
while her sister busily and worriedly
moved about the room

For he that is entered into his rest,
he also hath ceased from his own works,
as God did from his.
Hebrews 4.10

As his words entered into her
she felt a uniting of her heart
towards one purpose and one desire
like she had never known before

And I will give them one heart, and one way,
that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them...
Jeremiah 32.39

Her heart swelling with love in his presence
you could even sense something special going on in the room
even see a heart which like a flower opened
and sending forth its fragrance

While the king sitteth at his table,
my spikenard sendeth forth the smell thereof.
Song of Songs 1.12

It followed that she said within herself
'This shepherd
I will follow all of my days'

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
Psalm 23.6
